Hey friend, have you heard of Times Journeys travel programs? Designed with New York Times readers, like me, in mind, they feature Times’ editors and other Times “approved experts on trip to places like Machu Piccu and Normandy.
A few weeks ago, when Times Journeys kicked off its first weekend program inside the Times’ headquarters in Times Square (where else!), I signed on with a friend. I had worked just a few blocks away from the Times years ago as a staffer at Conde Nast Traveler magazine. As a travel copywriter who has written hundreds of travel programs like these for group travel companies, I was curious to see what it was all about.
It was fun to be back in my old work hood, at least for a little while. And it was even more fun to hear what Times’ travel experts including Seth Kugel, Travel Editor Dan Saltzstein, and Times Photographer Josh Haner had to say off the cuff about how they like to travel.
